Northern Tier Contracting Inc., commonly referred to as NTC, was founded in January of 2012 by partners Darren Gotham and Barry Smith.

Based in southern St. Lawrence County of upstate New York, NTC was formed to give North Country Clients in St. Lawrence, Jefferson, Franklin and Lewis counties a General Contractor option that focused on quality construction at a reasonable cost. The company was founded on the premise that a well-organized company with the best field craftsmen under the guidance of industry leading supervision, could exceed client expectations with regard to quality and cost-effective processes.

NTC’s initial office space consisted of a 400sq ft. rented space. In May of 2015, NTC purchased the 16,000 sq. ft. “Farley Crane Building” on Scotch Settlement Road in the town of Gouverneur, New York. By March of 2016 a state of the art 3,600 sq. ft. office addition was added to provide work space for the growing office staff.

Today, NTC provides meaningful employment for over 70 people that generates $18M of construction contract revenue per year. Clients served include public agencies, state and federal, as well as private businesses.
